Surprise European Club 'Want' Greenwood

Surprise European Club 'Want' Greenwood

With Mason Greenwood not expected to return for Manchester United this season, a surprise European giant is reportedly interested in signing the forward.

Mane Snubbed From FIFPRO World XI Shortlist

Since the Manchester native was arrested in January last year, he has been suspended by the Red Devils and is unlikely to return to Carrington for the 2022/23 campaign as the club finalises its own internal investigation into the matter.

However, it seems there is a team that is willing to endure the potential backlash of fielding the young star in the coming months.

According to Fotospor, Turkish giants Fenerbahce are keen on bringing the striker to Istanbul as they view Greenwood as someone who can help turn their fortunes around.

The Yellow Canaries have not won the Super Lig title in nine years, and it seems they are willing to face tremendous public scrutiny in an effort to once again lift the trophy.

The Crown Prosecution Service dropped all charges laid against Greenwood earlier this month, but the England international is still subject to an internal investigation by United into the accusations of attempted rape, assault and coercive and controlling behaviour that led to his arrest in early 2022.

Various reports have suggested that United's women's side is not keen to have the 21-year-old return to the club and that some of his teammates share the same sentiment, irrespective of the verdict of the investigation, perhaps leaving the door open for Greenwood to play his football abroad.

Club To Offer Messi 'Contract Worth €400m'

Should the striker make the move to Turkey, he will join the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Dele Alli and Aaron Lennon as other English stars who have plied their trade in the Eastern European nation.
