The 37-year-old has come under fire for his actions on Wednesday night that led to Ten Hag dropping him from the Red Devils' first-team squad.
Ronaldo was seen heading down the tunnel before the final whistle in United's 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur, with reports later stating he left the stadium before the game ended.
Ten Hag has subsequently left him out of United's squad to take on Chelsea in the Premier League this weekend, prompting Ronaldo to release a statement on social media to explain his behaviour.
This has led to suggestions that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner no longer has a future at the 20-time English champions, after he attempted to leave United before the 2022/23 campaign got underway.
According to Portuguese journalist Pedro Almeida, the former Real Madrid and Juventus talisman could be preparing to cancel his contract, which runs out next year, in the coming weeks.
