With Gabriel Jesus having now failed to score in his last eight appearances for Arsenal, Mikel Arteta has made a big admission about the Brazilian striker who was signed for €52.2 million from Manchester City.
Official: Barca Star Announces Shock Retirement
Following a bright start to the campaign, the 25-year-old's drought in front of a goal will do little for hopes of getting back into the Brazil squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup after he was dropped for Tite's selection in September.
The ex-City forward was named in the Gunners' starting XI in their 1-0 win over Zurich in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday, where his finishing struggles continued as he ended the group stage without a single European goal.
His last Premier League strike, meanwhile, came in October, with Arteta admitting after the game at the Emirates Stadium that Jesus has been frustrated with his dry run.
"It does bother him for sure," he told BT Sport.
"Knowing him, when he scores three goals, he wants to score four.
"Today he had a couple of good chances as well, but what he generates to the team is just amazing.
"Last week he gave three assists. Today he was involved in every action again and the goals will come."
Jesus has made 17 appearances for Arsenal so far since his arrival, contributing to 12 goals across all competitions.
