Football Italia's Wayne Girard claims that reveals Dybala became emotional when he went back to his home to retrieve to his things ahead of the Saudi move but became emotional when interacting with fans for autographs.
Dybala reportedly then had another conversation with his wife about the best way forward, especially about playing at the highest level and how his family would adapt to living in Saudi.
Roma manager Daniele De Rossi believes the supporters played a big role in keeping Dybala at the club.
"It was a thrilling situation, with highs and lows. We are sure the fans will back us tomorrow, and they would have done it anyway," De Rossi said in a press conference, as per Football Italia.
"So many of them renewed [season tickets] and always remained by our side.
"We saw the reaction that his decision triggered. He rejected a lot of money, which is unusual in football. He made this decision for the love of Roma fans and the team. I think that it's a nice story and not so common in football."
