Euro Giants 'Drop' Massive Osimhen Price Tag

Euro Giants 'Drop' Massive Osimhen Price Tag

Italian giants Napoli have reportedly dropped the massive €150 million (R2.9 billion) price tag they had placed on their superstar striker Victor Osimhen.

It seems the 2022/23 Serie A champions are struggling to receive any concrete offers for their 25-year-old marksman.

The Lagos native signed a contract extension last season, and in it, Gli Azzurri apparently inserted a release clause in the region of €150 million.

It is believed the Serie A side was hoping to sell the 2023 CAF Men's Player of the Year so they can avail the necessary funds to add to their squad for the new season.

New Napoli boss Antonio Conte is said to be a massive admirer of Romelu Lukaku and is hoping to bring the Belgian to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, but the club will only be able to do this if Osimhen is sold.

The Nigerian's release clause seems to be putting suitors off, however, but according to Calciomercato, Napoli chiefs are now willing to drop the price down to €100 million (R1.9 million).

It is claimed teams in the Saudi Pro League are more than willing to pay the original price, but because the Super Eagles frontman prefers a move to the Premier League, the Italian club is willing to lower their price in order to get the sale.

Chelsea are said to be out of the race for Osimhen's signature, leaving Arsenal as the likeliest destination for him at the moment as they are also in the market for a forward.
