In July last year, experienced Portuguese manager Luis Castro was appointed as Al Nassr's head coach after being recommended by the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.
"Certainly, Ronaldo preferred me to be with Al Nassr in the beginning, this is what I know about him, he always gives his opinion on such matters," he told In The Goal.
The 63-year-old, who took charge of 54 matches before being dismissed in September, only has good memories of working so closely with his compatriot.
"When you have Cristiano Ronaldo in your team, it's something special and wonderful, and it's only natural that he would express his opinion about me coaching Al Nassr, because he's one of the prominent figures within the club," he added.
Castro also denied the idea that the former Real Madrid talisman stood in the way of his sacking earlier, but admitted there were "many" people who wanted him to leave the club.
"Cristiano didn't stand in the way of my dismissal, but my work is what made me stay with the team, but I know that there were many people who wanted me to leave, and Al Nassr has now found its way, and I hope it competes for all titles this season," he continued.
