RIP: European Club Confirms Coach's Death After Car Accident

A European club has confirmed the death of one of their coaches after he was involved in a car accident this week.

Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt took to social media on Friday to confirm that U19 head coach Helge Rasche has passed away aged 33 following a tragic accident.

Reports in Germany claim Rasche's car veered off the road and collided with a tree, with tributes from fans having poured in on social media in response to the devastating news.

"Eintracht Frankfurt is devastated by the loss of U19 head coach Helge Rasche," the club said, according to the Mirror.

"The 33-year-old lost his life in a traffic accident yesterday. Our thoughts are with his family and friends."

Rasche joined Frankfurt's youth set-up four years ago and was in charge of the club's U19 team in 2023, after initially working with the U17 side.

Borussia Dortmund wrote: "We too mourn the loss of Helge Rasche and would like to express our deepest sympathy. Our thoughts are with him, his family and loved ones. Rest in peace!"

VFL Wolfsburg also noted the "terrible news" and sent Rasche's family their "sincere and heartfelt condolences".

Rasche oversaw 38 matches as Frankfurt U19 manager, winning 18 of those games and losing on 11 occasions.
