The legendary manager's death was confirmed by his family on Monday, almost eight months after he announced to the world that he had been diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer.
Eriksson was given "at best a year" to live by doctors following his diagnosis, and passed away peacefully in his sleep before tributes from all around the world came pouring in for the ex-England, Lazio and Benfica head coach.
One of them came from Beckham, who was appointed as captain of the Three Lions under Eriksson's management.
The 49-year-old recently spent time with Eriksson at his home in Sweden, and shared this message with his followers on social media.
"We laughed, we cried and we knew we were saying goodbye… Sven, thank you for always being the person you have always been, passionate, caring, calm and a true gentleman," he wrote.
"I will be forever grateful for you making me your captain, but I will forever hold these last memories of this day with you and your family.
