Manchester United have reportedly agreed to pay €50 million (R993.8 million) to sign their top midfield target, who looks set to become the club's fifth signing of the window.
The Red Devils are said to have struck with a deal with Paris Saint-Germain to land Uruguayan international Manuel Ugarte's signature.
According to The Athletic's David Ornstein, the 23-year-old is set to travel to Manchester on Tuesday to undergo a medical head of the proposed transfer.
United have pursued the former Sporting CP man since the start of the window, but refused to meet PSG's initial demands.

Through constant negotiations with the Ligue 1 champions, a full agreement is believed to have been agreed after Ugarte pushed for the move to the Red Devils.
A further €10 million (R198.7 million) could be paid to PSG in performance-related add-ons over the course of the deal.
Ugarte is now expected to become Erik ten Hag's fifth signing for the 2024/25 campaign, after the arrivals of Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
The South American made 37 appearances for PSG in his only season in France, contributing to three goals along the way.
