The question as to which shirt number Eden Hazard will wear at Real Madrid is one of the most debated ones in recent weeks, and latest reports suggest he has settled on another number instead of Cristiano Ronaldo's No.7.

The 28-year-old joined Los Blancos for €100 million (R1.57 billion) last month, in a deal, which could go up to €150 million (R2.36 billion) including add-ons.
Initial reports claimed he would take over Ronaldo's iconic No.7 but with Mariano Diaz currently holding the number, he has since made other plans, according to Marca.

The Belgium international instead started pre-season with the number 23 and it was first stated it is just his provisional number. However, Marca now claim Hazard has settled onto the 23 because he is a huge basketball fan.
Basketball legends such as Michael Jordan, who wore it at Chicago Bulls, and LeBron James, who had it at Cleveland Cavaliers and now at Los Angeles Lakers, are believed to have inspired Hazard to go with this number.

At Real, Sergio Reguilon was carrying it, but he has left to Sevilla on loan. It is somewhat synonymous with David Beckham, who wore it during his stint at Santiago Bernabeu, while Isco also initially took it before switching to No.22.
