According to Sport, Real have lodged a mammoth €142 million to sign midfielder Paul Pogba from Manchester United. The deal would see Pogba become Los Blancos' most expensive player of all time, far surpassing the figure of €101 million (R1.5 billion), as per Transfermarkt, the club paid to sign Gareth Bale in 2013.
Real have been linked with Pogba throughout the window, but a spate of injuries and an embarrassing 7-3 pre-season defeat to crosstown rivals Atletico Madrid has seen the club escalate its efforts to sign the Frenchman.
