Real's Ballon D'Or Winner Courted By Italian Giants

Real Madrid have spent more than €200 million in the window already, and need to balance their books. With the Spanish giants are actively looking to offload a number of players, they have now received an enquiry over one of their biggest stars.

Zinedine Zidane's return to Real Madrid has coincided with a massive overhaul at the club, and the Frenchman has brought in players such as Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic.

The influx of big-money signings at the Santiago Bernabeu has resulted in a number of players being shown the door, and more could follow before the window closes.

Theo Hernandez, Marcos Llorente and Mateo Kovacic are among those who have already departed and, according to Marca, another could leave after Real received an approach for one of their key players.

It has been claimed that AC Milan have registered an interest in signing Luka Modric, and have made an official enquiry to Real. Los Blancos are unlikely to entertain an offer for Modric, however, and have already rejected advances made by Inter Milan for the Croatian midfielder in the past.

The 33-year old, who won the Ballon d'Or and The Best Fifa Men's Player awards in 2018, has two years left on his contract with the Spanish giants and is still held in high regard by Zidane, despite enduring a difficult campaign last season.

Modric joined Real from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012, and has since made 303 appearances for Los Blancos, winning four Champions League titles along the way.
