Brazil's FA has confirmed that Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior has been removed from the Selecao's squad for this month's fixtures.

The 24-year-old winger suffered a cervical spine injury in Los Blancos' 2-0 win over Villarreal in LALIGA on Saturday.
Vinicius is expected to be out for two weeks, although there are reportedly concerns he could be sidelined for longer than that.
The 2024 Ballon d'Or favourite was named in Brazil's squad ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Peru, but has since been removed.
This was confirmed by the Confederation of Brazil Football, who wished Vinicius a "speedy recovery" in a statement, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The former Flamengo starlet will spend the international break in Madrid as he tries to get fit for Real's upcoming games.

Vinicius has contributed to 11 goals in 12 matches this season across all competitions for the 15-time UEFA Champions League winners.
