According to reports in Spain, there is a good chance the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner will reunite with his former club as a free agent at the end of the season.
The 35-year-old's current contract in France expires in June, and outlets in France suggest he is no closer to signing an extension than he was before the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Los Blancos head coach Carlo Ancelotti, meanwhile, seems to believe Messi being back in LaLiga would only benefit the sport in Spain.

"Messi can do whatever he wants, and Barcelona too. It's not an issue for me," he said, as per Barca Blaugranes.
"I like him as a player. For Spanish football, it could be nice to have him. But it's a matter for Messi and Barcelona."
Messi has a healthy record at PSG in terms of goal contributions, having played a hand in 65 strikes in 70 matches, but has not managed to help guide the club to their first-ever UEFA Champions League trophy, the piece of silverware they want the most.
