It has been reported that Saudi Arabian giants Al Nassr are battling to officially register Cristiano Ronaldo after he signed a world-record contract with the club last week.
Ronaldo 'Irritated' Portugal Teammates At World Cup
According to AFP, the 37-year-old's wait for his debut in the Middle East could be delayed even longer as the club needs to release or sell one of their foreign players in order to register the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.
A club official is believed to have said that: "Al Nassr has not registered him yet because there is no vacancy for a foreign player.
"A foreign player must leave to register Ronaldo, either by selling or by terminating the contract by mutual consent."
Ronaldo recently discovered that the two-match ban he was hit with from the English Football Association in the days leading up to his Manchester United departure has been upheld by FIFA.
The forward was punished for hitting a phone out of a young fan's hand towards the end of last season, but could now see his debut delayed even further as Al Nassr currently have all eight foreign player slots taken up.
