Last week, reports across Spain and Europe suggested Los Blancos will not pursue a move for the 24-year-old France captain due to a number of concerns.
Mbappe is currently considered among the best players in the world and has long been linked with the 14-time European champions.
The forward surprised many last year when he very publicly turned down an approach from Real and instead decided to renew his deal in Paris for a further 24 months.
His unexpected decision reportedly upset Real's hierarchy at the time and is believed to still be a fresh memory in the minds of the club's decision makers, including president Florentino Perez.
Furthermore, rumours claim the significant salary he would demand could disturb the team's current wage structure, with Mbappe thought to be the highest-earning footballer in Europe at the moment.
Clubs in the Premier League, as a result of the latest news in Spain, are said to be monitoring his situation, namely Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool.
According to AS, meanwhile, Mbappe already has an offer from the latter, who have credited with interest in the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner's signature for some time.
French publication L'Equipe predicts that the striker's future will likely go unresolved until the first few months of next year.
