Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly offered himself to Real Madrid following his recent controversial interview.
Man Utd Star Defends Ronaldo's Criticism
According to Sport, the 37-year-old has offered his former club the chance to re-sign him amid his uncertain future at Old Trafford.
Last week, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner caused a stir when he publicly declared he does not respect Dutch manager Erik ten Hag and lambasted United's lack of progression since his initial exit in 2009.
As a result of his actions, the Red Devils are reportedly seeking to cut ties with Ronaldo, with the club aiming to prevent him from returning to Carrington after the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
This means the Portugal captain, who has scored just three goals in all competitions this season, could become a free agent ahead of the January transfer window.
It is claimed Ronaldo's entourage has reached out to the Spanish giants amid Karim Benzema's fitness issues, after the Frenchman was forced to withdraw from the World Cup due to a new injury.
Benzema took the trip to Qatar having already missed nine games for Real since the start of the campaign, and is now expected to out for another three weeks following a thigh injury picked up in a Les Bleus training session.
