Reports suggest that Manchester United are "seriously considering" replacing Cristiano Ronaldo with an African star as soon as January.
Casemiro Reveals What Surprised Him The Most About Ten Hag
United appear to already be planning for life without Ronaldo, with the Red Devils now interested in bringing in Cameroonian Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, according to Media Foot.
With the Bayern Munich man's contract set to expire at the end of the season, the Mancunians are said to see him as a potentially valuable addition should Ronaldo leave the club.
The Indomitable Lion has been in impressive form so far this season, having scored in every game he has started in all competitions, and it is believed that Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag appreciates his versatility and experience.
The deal could come to fruition as soon as January, but will reportedly depend on whether or not a suitable offer arrives for Ronaldo.
The Portugal captain has been on the periphery of Ten Hag's plans this season and while he has returned to the starting XI in recent days, his future remains in doubt, especially after he was banished from first-team duties for refusing to come on during his side's 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
Mbappe Breaks Messi's Champions League Record
If Ten Hag is to sign Choupo-Moting for United, he will have to convince the Hamburg native as well as the Bavarian giants of the move, with the Bundesliga side keen to extend his deal off the back of his recent performances.
The former Paris Saint-Germain attacker has found the back of the net eight times and assisted three further strikes in in 13 matches across all competitions this season.
