Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that the club has made a decision regarding Cristiano Ronaldo's return to the squad.
Messi Sets New UCL Record, Leaves Ronaldo Trailing!
The 37-year-old has been the centre of controversy in recent days, after he was dropped from United's squad to take on Chelsea last weekend following his actions last week.
Ronaldo was criticised for his decision to head down the tunnel before the final whistle during the Red Devils' 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, with Ten Hag later revealing the forward had refused to come on as a substitute before his walk-off.
On Tuesday, it was reported that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner had returned to training with the squad ahead of their UEFA Europa League clash against Sheriff Tiraspol on Thursday after being made to work alone for a few days.
Speaking on Wednesday, Ten Hag confirmed Ronaldo would be involved in the squad for their upcoming European tie at Old Trafford, and also revealed that Raphael Varane will not play for United again before the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
"Yes, Cristiano [Ronaldo] will be in the squad tomorrow. Raphael Varane isn't," he said, according to reporters.
"He will be out until the World Cup."
Ten Hag was also asked about the conversation he would have had with Ronaldo behind closed doors, responding: "It is not difficult. We answered all the questions. He was out for one game and back in the squad now."
Ronaldo has made just 12 appearances for United in all competitions so far this season, scoring only two goals.
