Since his debut, a substitute appearance against Cruz Azul in the group stage of the Leagues Cup, the Argentine has started six consecutive matches for the Herons.
Messi, 36, helped inspire Inter Miami to success in that tournament as he struck on 10 occasions, including a run in which he scored three braces in a row.
With some concerned about the demand on the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner's legs, head coach Gerardo Martino has stated that his No. 10 will start in the Florida-based outfit's US Open Cup semi-final against FC Cincinnati this week.
"We said that at some point he would have to rest because of the load of minutes played," he said, according to ESPN.
"Clearly, Wednesday is not going to be that day.
"If he does not tell me he wants to rest, he will continue to play."
