In a shocking turn of events, the Los Blancos forward has found himself embroiled in serious allegations of rape and sexual harassment during his recent visit to Sweden, as reported by local media.
The Paris Saint-Germain superstar, who vehemently dismissed the claims as "fake news", is now reportedly under investigation by Swedish authorities.
This is according to Swedish newspaper Expressen, who claims the allegations arose after a night out in Stockholm, where Mbappe was staying at the Bank Hotel with friends from Wednesday to Friday last week.
The alleged incident is said to have occurred on Thursday night, following a visit to Chez Jolie restaurant and a night of revelry at V nightclub. Mbappe and his entourage were seen leaving the venue in a black van, heading back to their hotel.
In a bid to refute the growing speculation, Mbappe took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a newspaper article about the allegations and state: "Fake News! It's becoming so predictable, just before the hearing as if by chance."
This remark comes just a day before a critical hearing concerning his £46 million (R1 billion) dispute with PSG over unpaid wages and bonuses.
Expressen further claimed that a police report was filed two days post-allegation, prompting a thorough investigation.
The situation escalated after a woman reportedly sought medical attention at a local hospital, which led to the alarm being raised.
On Monday, forensic teams were seen at the Bank Hotel, scouring the premises for any evidence related to the case.
