Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly set to commit to a shock seven-year contract with his new club following his controversial departure from Manchester United.
Messi's World Cup Request Leaves PSG In Awkward Position
During the 2022 FIFA World Cup, it was reported that Ronaldo had reached an agreement with Saudi Arabian giants Al Nassr.
The Portuguese marksman has been a free agent since he and the Red Devils decided to mutually part ways in November, but now it seems likely that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner will be calling Riyadh his new home.
A fresh report from Marca suggests that not only will the football icon be earning €200 million (R3.6 billion) per season in the Middle East, but the contract he will be signing will be for the duration of seven years.
It is said that international football's all-time leading goalscorer will earn €200 million a season during the first two-and-a-half years of the contract as a player, and thereafter will be an ambassador as Saudi Arabia look to successfully bid to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Egypt and Greece.
The Madeira native will reportedly also see his wages increase further when his ambassadorial role for the Saudi club begins.
The 37-year-old publicly denied an agreement had been reached with Al Nassr after Portugal thrashed Switzerland 6-1 at the World Cup, while the club has also refuted claims that a contract had been offered to the striker, but Ronaldo's arrival in the Middle East looks to be drawing closer now.
Report: Bale Makes Decision On Career
Signing with the Saudi giants would see Ronaldo call time on his two-decade stint at the top level of European football, so the football world waits with bated breath to see if Al Nassr have indeed won the race for the marksman's signature.
