With Paris Saint-Germain's world-class attacking trio now split for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Neymar has revealed that he hopes to beat his teammate Lionel Messi in the tournament's final.
Man Utd Plotting On Sensational Mbappe Move As Ronaldo's Replacement?
Following an erratic start to life as an attacking trident in the French capital, it seems Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Messi have hit their stride in PSG colours.
For Les Parisiens, the three will be hoping to finally lead the Ligue 1 champions to an inaugural UEFA Champions League victory but for the next month all their attention will be solely focused on lifting football's biggest prize Qatar.
With the biggest sporting event in the world on the horizon, Neymar has revealed that, while it has not been a topic of discussion at the Parc des Princes, he has joked about getting the better of his Argentine teammate Messi in the tournament's final.
"Everyone obviously has high hopes for the World Cup and feels not anxious but excited. Everybody wants to be at the World Cup," the 30-year-old Brazilian told The Guardian.
"We don't discuss it very much but sometimes we joke about crossing paths with each other in the final. I tell him (Messi) that I'll be champion and win against him and we have a good laugh."

The former Santos wonderkid has, however, expressed his delight at being able to call Messi and Mbappe teammates, even though there has been much speculated about his reportedly frosty relationship with the latter.
"Playing with him [Messi] and Kylian is a huge pleasure. They're two greats, with Messi long considered the best in the world," Neymar added.
"Kylian is a young player who's been growing and showing his potential and still has a lot to grow. It's always great to play alongside the greats, I've always preferred that because the chances of winning are higher."
