With Manchester United reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City could be smiling all the way to the bank if that transfer goes through.
Over the past 24 hours, reports in the media have suggested that Sancho has agreed personal terms with the Red Devils.
The 20-year-old is said to be United's top target for this transfer window, but there is still work to be done, with Dortmund refusing to budge on their transfer fee, and the Premier League club trying to get creative with the structure of a deal.
The Times has now revealed that rivals Manchester City will be in for a decent chunk of change if Sancho is indeed lured to Old Trafford. It is claimed that, during the England starlet's transfer to Germany from the Etihad, the Citizens inserted a clause that would entitle them to 15% of the profit made on his next move.
This would mean that City could walk away with about £15 million (R338 million) if United meet BVB's £108 million (R2.4 billion) asking price for the attacker.
Although the deal is believed to be progressing, it is also claimed that United will consider other targets if Dortmund are not willing to negotiate a deal in the current economic climate.
City have already spent some money on signings in this transfer window, and will surely relish the opportunity to boost their war chest with some money from their fierce rivals.
