The United boss announced the imminent exit of Alexis Sanchez after his side's 2-1 win over LASK in the UEFA Europa League on Wednesday night.
The victory saw the Red Devils book their ticket to the quarter-finals of the competition, in which they will face Copenhagen on Monday, and after the match Solskjaer wished Sanchez well ahead of his expected move to Inter Milan.
"Yeah, I believe so," Solskjaer told BT Sport when asked if reports claiming the Chilean's transfer to the Nerazzurri was done were true.
"He's had a good time over there and he's a good player. We wish him all the best."
Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta also revealed that Sanchez has signed for Inter after agreeing a three-year deal.
"Unofficially, we'll make it official tomorrow morning," he told Sky Italy.
"The player is entirely owned by Inter. We have a contract with him for three seasons.
"We believe in him, that he can be a strong part of this squad and are happy to have concluded this deal."
Sanchez spent the 2019/20 season on loan at Inter, although United still paid parts of his reported £450 000 (R10 million) weekly wage, including bonuses.
