A host of similar names have been linked with Manchester United in this transfer window, but a new target seems to have emerged from LaLiga.
The spotlight has been on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's chase of Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho, while Gareth Bale has also been mentioned in numerous reports over the past few weeks.
However, it has now been revealed that United are keeping tabs on Serbian midfielder Uros Racic, who is currently plays for Valencia.
With the 22-year-old having failed to settle at the Spanish club, the Daily Mail has now reported that United are hopeful of securing a deal for the midfielder for €30 million (R591 million).
Valencia-based journalist Hector Gomez provided an update on the potential transfer via his official Twitter account recently, stating: "Racic's camp confirm interest from Manchester United for the player but NOT the €30m offer. Let's see if there really is a final offer or if it only remains as interest."
The Serbian arrived in Valencia from Red Star Belgrade in 2018, and made his first LaLiga appearance for the club after coming off the bench on Saturday as they beat Levante 4-2.
Racic has been out on two loan spells since joining Los Che, turning out for Famalicao in Portugal and then Spanish second-tier club Tenerife.
United have already made one reinforcement in midfield, with Donny van de Beek arriving from Ajax Amsterdam – the only addition to their senior team in this transfer window to date.
