According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana is close to joining the Red Devils on a five-year contract, with the option of a further 12 months.
The 27-year-old was said to feel it was impossible to turn down a move to the 20-time English champions, who are coached by his former Ajax Amsterdam tactician Erik ten Hag.
Inter and United are reportedly nearing a full agreement over Onana's transfer, with the shot-stopper already preparing to meet up with his soon-to-be new teammates on their pre-season tour of the United States.
Romano reports that the African star will become one of the five most expensive goalkeepers in world football should the deal be completed.
Onana's signature is reportedly set to cost last season's Carabao Cup winners around €55 million (R1.1 billion).
The retired Cameroon international made 145 appearances under Ten Hag in the Netherlands between 2015 and 2022 before his free-agent switch to Inter, whom he played 41 games for in all competitions in the 2022/23 campaign.
