The Red Devils are believed to be closing in on a deal to sign 20-year-old Denmark international Rasmus Hojlund, who has only been at Atalanta since last year.
United have already completed the arrivals of England midfielder Mason Mount from Chelsea and goalkeeper Andre Onana from Inter Milan, but are looking to conduct more transfer business.
According to Fabrizio Romano, a full agreement between the 20-time English champions and the Serie A club has been reached on a total package of €70 million (R1.3 billion) for Hojlund.
The transfer expert, as per the Daily Express, believes head coach Erik ten Hag and the club will soon turn their attention to the defensive midfielder and centre-back positions after sealing the promising striker's signature.
The Dutch tactician is aiming to continue progressing in England following an impressive debut campaign, in which he guided the Red Devils to two cup finals – the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup – of which they won the first.
Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat is considered a priority target for Ten Hag and his staff, while it is unclear as to which defensive player the club will move for.
