Man Utd 'Prepare' New Plan To Land PSG Star

Manchester United have reportedly formulated a new plan to land one of their major targets from Paris Saint-Germain.

Les Parisiens midfielder Manuel Ugarte is understood to have been on the Red Devils' transfer wish list since the beginning of the window, and while talks over a potential deal have seemingly cooled, it is said that the record Premier League champions still retain a strong interest in the player.

The Ligue 1 champions are believed to have placed a valuation of £51 million (R1.1 billion) on the Uruguayan destroyer, but this price point is reportedly too high for the English side.

However, according to The Guardian, United are willing to wait for deadline day in order to land the 23-year-old's signature as they believe there is a strong chance PSG will drop their asking price considerably by the final day of the transfer window.

The same report claims that the Mancunian club is open to listening to offers for a number of their stars to be included in the deal, including Victor Lindelof, Casemiro, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Scott McTominay, but their purchase of the Montevideo native will not be contingent on any outgoings.

It is believed that Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag is a big admirer of Ugarte as he looks to reinforce the depth of the defensive midfield position in his squad.

Personal terms are also said to not be an issue for United, having agreed this with the player already, but it seems the three-time European champions are not willing to overpay for the player.
