Manchester United are reportedly open to making a shock decision regarding one of their top earners, Marcus Rashford.

Following a career-best goalscoring season in the 2022/23 season, the Red Devils decided to reward the England international with a new five-year contract that saw his wages go all the way up to a reported £325 000 (R7.6 million) a week.
During the latest campaign, however, the winger was unable to replicate his 30-goal contribution from the season before as he tailed off drastically.
The Manchester native finished the term with just eight goals in all competitions as not only did his form deteriorate, but so did his relationship with manager Erik ten Hag.
The Dutch tactician disciplined the 26-year-old on two occasions last season. First, for throwing a birthday party after a heavy Manchester derby defeat in October, and the second time after he embarked on an unauthorised trip to Belfast in January.
According to Manchester Evening News, these instances led to a breakdown in their relationship, and because of that, the club has not ruled out selling their academy alumni.
With new sporting director Dan Ashworth being officially appointed earlier this week, this opens the door for the club to sort out Rashford's future immediately.

The same report sale that Rashford's sale would represent a pure profit under the Premier League's profitability and sustainability rules, something to consider as the club's new minority owners INEOs look to rebuild the squad, although it is believed their preference would be to keep him at Old Trafford and help him rediscover his form.
