Les Alsaciens are currently on a six-game winless run in Ligue 1, languishing in 13th position on the log following their latest draw with Olympique Marseille.
Their last victory in the French top division was a 1-0 win over Metz, but since that victory in late September, Vieira's charges have not only struggled for wins but also for goals.
Prior to Emanuel Emegha's opener this past weekend, the last person to find the back of the net for Le Racing was Bafana Bafana's own Mothiba.
On that occasion, the Johannesburg native came off the bench to level matters against Stade Rennais, but against the Olympians, the South African was unable to have a similar impact.
Regardless of him failing to score against Marseille, and Strasbourg failing to win altogether, former Crystal Palace boss Vieira is happy with the progress the team has been making.
"I think we deserved better this evening. There was a lot of waste in terms of our decision-making and there is some frustration. There was an opportunity for us to win," the former Arsenal midfielder said, according to L'Equipe.

"The team is progressing, as you have seen in the past three matches. We are more coherent. Some players are starting to get used to the level of Ligue 1 and the pressure at this level. I was pleased with the mindset."
