Reigning African Player of the Year Sadio Mane is reportedly on the cusp of making a major investment into a new club.

According to Le Burry Republican, a press conference will be held on Wednesday in Bourges, a small town in central France, where the Senegalese talisman will be confirmed as Bourges Foot 18's new owner.
This will put an end to three years of negotiations been the 2022 Ballon d'Or runner-up and Cheikh Sylla, the current president of Bourges Foot 18. Sylla became president of the club after a merger with Bourges 18, but it seems he will not hold the position as currently constituted for much longer.
The same report suggests that Sylla will quickly assemble an extraordinary general meeting to present his resignation from the presidency of the institution.
This will be done in order to finalise the genesis of a Professional Sports Limited Company, which Sadio Mane will be the head of and will then reappoint his French counterpart as the future president.
The 2022 Africa Cup of Nations winner has also had conversations with the town's mayor and originator of the club's merger, Yann Galut, in order to secure his backing over the proposed takeover of the side.

The 31-year-old currently plays for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League and is among the highest-paid players in the world, but it seems there are already plans for some of his earnings, with it reported that Mane is ready to pump money into the club in order to facilitate its regeneration.
