Le Classique, as the derby between PSG and Olympique Marseille is known, is arguably the most hotly contested football match in French football.
So when the two sides played against each other at the Parc des Princes earlier this season and Les Parisiens thumped their rivals 4-0, there was potential for controversy after the astounding result.
Following PSG's victory, the Les Rouge-et-Bleu faithful could be heard celebrating with anti-gay chants directed at the opposition supporters, and joining the singing were PSG stars Randal Kolo Muani, Ousmane Dembele, Achraf Hakimi and Layvin Kurzawa.
After this evidence came to light, the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) decided to investigate the incident, and have since given each of the four players a suspended one-match ban, as per ESPN.
In response to the verdict, PSG released a statement that read: "The club regrets that the Disciplinary Commission has opted for an excessive and collective measure, likely to undermine the work of dialogue and prevention undertaken by the club with associations, institutions and fans."

The LFP also ordered that the Auteuil stand at PSG's home ground be closed for two matches, one of which will be suspended.
