Result: Paris Saint-Germain 4-0 Rennes
Date: 29 April 2016
Venue: Parc des Princes
Zlatan Ibrahimovic netted a brace to inspire Paris Saint-Germain to a 4-0 win over Rennes on Friday evening.
Despite the league title being wrapped up, Laurent Blanc still named a strong side, which included the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Angel Di Maria and Edinson Cavani.
After a slow start to the game, PSG nearly went ahead after 21 minutes, as Di Maria combined with Ibrahimovic, before forcing Costil into a fine save.
Trapp was called into action minutes later, as the PSG shot-stopper did well to deny Sylla from close range, after some good work by Dembele.
The Ligue 1 champions should have taken the lead just before the break, but Thiago Silva headed inches wide of the upright.
However, the deadlock was broken five minutes into the second half, as Maxwell nutmegged Gnagnon, before rifling the ball home from distance, 1-0 to PSG.
The lead was doubled four minutes later, as Ibrahimovic turned home Di Maria's cross with a first-time finish from close range.
Ibrahimovic was not done there, as the Swedish forward bagged his second and PSG's third in the 78th minute courtesy of a fine left-footed effort.
There was enough time for the home side to get a fourth goal, as Cavani registered his name on the score sheet in stoppage time, after being teed up Marco Verrati.
