French Ligue 1
Result: Bordeaux 1-1 Paris Saint-Germain
Date: 11 May 2016
Venue: Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux
Ligue 1 Champions, Paris Saint-Germain were forced to settle for a point, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Bordeaux on Wednesday evening.
The hosts started well, doing well to pile on some early pressure but suffered when a Adrien Rabiot effort sailed agonisingly wide after Ibrahimovic put him through on goal.
The hosts continued to look threatening on attack, and almost fell behind after a simple ball was completely missed by Marquinhos before falling for Plasil who got a shot away, but Trapp did well to palm the ball away.
The visitors tried to up the tempo as the half-time whistle loomed but the hosts were gaining momentum as the half progressed.
Ounas was proving to be a thorn in the PSG defence and almost grabbed a goal right on the stroke of half-time, but his effort sailed just wide of the mark.
PSG could not have asked for a better start to the second stanza as Bordeaux allowed Angel Di Maria too much room on the right and the Argentine floated a fine cross into the danger zone, where Ibrahimovic nodded back across the face of goal and into the net, 1-0.
This goal took Ibrahimovic to just a single goal away from equalling Carlos Bianchi's 1977-78 figure of 37 Le Championnat goals in a season, as the talismanic striker now boasts 36 goals and 13 assists in the French top flight alone.
Less than ten minutes later though, Nicolas Pallois drew the hosts back on level terms with a cool finish, 1-1.
The reigning champions tried to push forward as the full-time whistle drew nearer, but the hosts were looking disciplined in defence and PSG had to settle for the 1-1 draw.
