PSG completed their domestic treble for the second season running after an exciting 4-2 victory over Marseille in the French Cup final.

Marseille wasted no time as they attacked straight from the kick-off, almost going ahead within the opening 30 seconds.

PSG responded with an effort of their own two minutes later when Angel Di Maria caused havoc in the box by sending a low cross towards the which was met by Blaise Matuidi, who edged ahead of his marker to poke the ball into the bottom corner, making it 1-0 after only three minutes of play.

The French champions' celebrations were short-lived as Thauvin drew Marseille back on level terms in the 12th minute after his effort took a deflection off Thiago Silva to wrong-foot Sirigu before nestling into the bottom corner.

Both sides were having a go at each other, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic almost put PSG ahead with a 35th minute header, but the Swede's effort was cleared off the line by Thauvin.

The two sides would head into the half-time break still deadlocked at 1-1.

The second stanza was also introduced by a goal, this time an Ibrahimovic penalty which was awarded after Matuidi was brought down by N'Kolou in the box less than a minute after the restart, 2-1.

Laurent Blanc's men turned on the pressure in the second half and found themselves extending their lead only ten minutes later, with Edinson Cavani finishing off a defense-splitting pass from Ibrahimovic by sliding his effort past the on-rushing Mandanda to make it 3-1.

PSG continued to dominate play in the second half, and looked threatening with every attack.

They were rewarded once more in the 82nd minute when Ibrahimovic completed his brace with a simple strike to take the score to 4-1 and kill any hope of a come-back from their counterparts.

Marseille did pull one back though five minutes later, Batshuayi tapping home from close range after Sirigu could only parry Mendy's shot into the striker's path, 4-2.

The match ended that way and PSG were crowned the French Cup champions, completing a domestic treble for the second season in a row.
