Coupe de France Report: Lorient 0-1 PSG 19 April 2016

Coupe de France Result: Lorient 0-1 PSG Date: 19 April 2016 Venue: Stade Yves Allainmat Paris Saint-Germain claimed a place in the Coupe de France final on Tuesday with a 1-0 win against Lorient. The Parisians took control of the game in the early stages as they dominated the possession stakes, but they just couldn't find the opening they were looking for. Five minutes before the break the scores were still level when Zlatan Ibrahimovic went close. Matuidi drifted towards the left flank and swung in a cross for the Swede who rose above Toure to head just wide of the near post. Just after the interval Sirigu's goalkeeping kept the score level at 0-0. PSG had a free kick in the middle of the pitch, but they lost possession and Lorient countered. Gassama surged down the right and curled in a cross that looked set to find Waris, but the PSG gloveman made an acrobatic intervention. Lorient put pressure on their visitors in the 71st minute as they went close. Moukandjo broke away and cut through the back line to get into the box but his effort on goal wasn't good enough and Sirigu saved well once again. The opener finally arrived in the 75th minute as PSG got their nose in front. The traveling side broke forward and picked out Ibrahimovic who was in space 30 yards out. He closed the distance as the defenders gave him too much breathing room, which he took advantage of by scoring from the edge of the box. PSG had two great chances in the last 10 minutes to seal the victory but the first saw Ibrahimovic dispossessed before the second was wasted as Aurier's shot lacked power and was easily saved. Despite the late misses PSG held on to claim a spot in the final.
