Pepe, now 28, joined the Premier League side in 2019 from Lille in a then-club-record transfer worth €80 million (R1.6 million).
Midfielder Declan Rice has since become Arsenal's all-time record purchase following his arrival from West Ham United in the recently passed window, with his services set to cost the club €116 million (R2.3 billion) in total.
With Pepe's departure, the Gunners bid farewell to a player who battled to live up to expectations in England despite amassing 112 appearances.
