According to Le Parisien, the French Ligue 1 champions are keen to bolster their squad for next season and are free to spend big after having restrictions lifted.
PSG were reportedly looking to land Real Madrid superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, however the Portuguese winger has since expressed his desire to remain at the club.
Bundesliga Champions, Bayern Munich, are reportedly also keen on landing the services of the Argentine winger, especially with the likes of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery constantly picking up injuries.
However, former Red Devils striker, Diego Forlan, believes United will regret selling Di Maria.
"United will regret it if he leaves. He should be given another season to prove himself and United should try to understand him better and trust him," Forlan wrote in his column for The National.
"Great coaches and great players don't always get on and not every player fits into rigid systems, but Di Maria is worth persisting with."
