United confirmed the signing on their official website, with a statement that read: "Manchester United is delighted to announce that Matteo Darmian has completed his transfer from Torino. Matteo joins on a four-year contract with the option to extend for a further year."
Darmian's most natural positon is at right-back, but the 25-year-old has proven to be more than handy at centre-back, as he stands at 6ft tall.
The AC Milan youth product was a part of Italy's 2014 World Cup team, starting in all three of their group stage matches.
Darmian has played 194 professional games in his career, scoring seven goals, while he's assisted a further 11 goals from defence.
