Inter Miami seemingly want to ensure they give themselves the best possible chance of winning the Major Soccer League championship and are keen on doing this by pairing Lionel Messi with a former Real Madrid superstar.

The signing of Messi and Sergio Busquets have shown the Herons' determination in winning the MLS Cup, and with the relatively new American franchise also reportedly trying to entice Jordi Alba and Andres Iniesta to join them, they are now rumoured to be interested in signing ex-Belgium international Eden Hazard.
The 32-year-old recently severed ties with Los Blancos after his contract was terminated, and it was rumoured that he was considering retirement after an underwhelming spell at the Santiago Bernabeu drew to a close.
However, with offers coming in first from Belgium side RWD Molenbeek, where his brother Kylian plays, and now from the David Beckham-co-owned club, it seems unlikely the attacker will hang up his boots just yet.
As a consequence of the ex-Chelsea man being such a high-profile talent, if he were to make the move to Inter Miami, he would have to be regarded as a "designated player". This means the two-time Premier League winner would be one of the players allowed to be exempt from the league's salary cap, an exemption that was also made for seven-time Ballon d'Or winner Messi.
The issue is that Inter Miami already have all three of their allocated "designated player" exceptions occupied. With the Rosario native expected to be given a slot, Joseph Martinez and Rodolfo Pizarro are the other two players who are exceptions to the salary cap.
