The 36-year-old has returned to his boyhood club for a fourth spell, shortly after leaving Turkish champions Istanbul Basaksehir as a free agent.
"I will pay for a minimum wage, but the most important thing is to be here," Robinho told the club's official website.
"I am well physically and mentally, obviously there is still a little bit of rhythm (missing), but that over time we will gradually evolve."
Robinho has been something of a journeyman during his professional career after rising to stardom following a move to Real Madrid in 2005.
He also played for the likes of Manchester City, AC Milan and Guangzhou Evergrande, but now seemingly wants to help his boyhood club amid their financial crisis.
According to ESPN, Robinho will pocket just €230 (about R4 500) per month with Santos, which is less than what Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma was reportedly earning when he made his professional debut in 2017.
The skilful winger represented Brazil 100 times, and won two FIFA Confederations Cups and one Copa America with the Selecao.
