Tevez reportedly called his return to Boca as the best day of his life, after he was welcomed back to the club by 40,000 fans.
The Argentine made his Boca debut in 2001 as an 18-year-old, and later left in 2004 to join Corinthians in Brazil, before embarking on a journey to Europe a season later.
After a season with West Ham, Tevez joined Manchester United, where he'd go onto win the English Premier League twice, and the UEFA Champions League once under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Tevez made the switch to rivals City in 2009, where he won the Premier League for the third time in his career, as well as the FA Cup.
The forward then joined Juventus in 2013, where he won the Serie A twice, before making the decision to head back home to Argentina, despite interest from Atletico Madrid.
Even Diego Maradona was at the stadium, holding up a banner from his private box, thanking the 31-year-old for his return.
