The Argentinian club announced the signing during Argentina's Copa America clash with Colombia on Friday, although details of the deal have not been revealed.
Tevez started his professional career with Boca Juniors in 1997, before leaving for Corinthians in 2004 and Boca president, Daniel Angelici, expressed his delight at the striker's return.
"It is a day of joy and great satisfaction," Angelici told the club's official Facebook page.
"The return of Carlos Tevez in an extraordinary moment of his career is fantastic news for all partners and supporters of Boca and Argentine football.
"The presence of Carlos will give another leap in quality to the great squad we have."
In his final season in Italy, Tevez helped Juventus secure a four successive Serie A title and the Coppa Italia, while they lost 3-1 to FC Barcelona in the Champions League final.
Tevez has scored 39 goals and assisted a further 14 in 66 league games for the Serie A champions, since joining in 2013.
