The 30-year-old was heavily linked with a reunion with his former Bayern coach, Louis van Gaal, who is now in charge of the Red Devils.
However, Schweinsteiger has now come out to speak about his desire to write more history with the German giants.
"I feel good and am ready to play at the top level in the next three years. That is my goal," he told Sport1.
"We have won the league three years in a row, and I don't think a team in Germany has managed four consecutive titles - that is motivation.
"I would like to win the Champions League again, but also play as well as we did in recent years.
"When players win titles like the Champions League or the World Cup, then many think players don't have the hunger anymore. But I don't look at it that way."
The Germany captain also explained that the upcoming 2016 European Championship has played a role in his decision.
"Next year is the 2016 Euros. Obviously being there is a goal of mine and for the whole of German football. You work towards such goals," he added.
