Several high-profile players are still available as free agents after failing to secure a move during the window.
Clubs can still attempt to sign these footballers on free deals before the respective leagues' registration deadlines have passed.
Among those who are available is Daniel Sturridge, who was part of the Reds' triumphant 2018/19 UCL squad. He was released by Liverpool just days after lifting his second Champions League title – he had won his first in 2011/12 with Chelsea – and joined Trabzonspor on a three-year deal.
However, he made just 16 appearances for the Turkish side before having his contract mutually terminated on 2 April. On the same day, he received a four-month worldwide ban for breaching betting rules.
Another high-profile free agent is Mario Balotelli. The former Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool forward joined then Serie A side Brescia – the club of the town he grew up in – in 2019, but his homecoming turned into something of a nightmare. Balotelli made 19 appearances for Brescia, but fell out with the club after the coronavirus break.
His contract ended after Brescia were relegated, but prior to that, there were days when he was not allowed to enter the club's training ground due to his claims over unpaid wages, which Brescia's leadership denied.

Balotelli is still only 30 years old, though, and could surely help a few a clubs if they could find a way to manage his strong-minded character.
Former Real Madrid defender Ezequiel Garay, who was last on the books of Valencia, is also available – you can find some more free agents, including two former Manchester United players, in the gallery above!
