Al Ahly head coach, Pitso Mosimane has opened up on his side's tough match against reigning European champions, FC Bayern Munich.
Despite their best efforts, there was nothing Mosimane's men to could to keep out the sheer attacking power of the German outfit.
The Red Eagles fought valiantly but were eventually ousted by a Robert Lewandowski brace. After the match, Ahly coach Mosimane chose to draw on the positives from their loss to Bayern
"It was a great opportunity for us to test our performance as the African champions against some of Europe's biggest teams. We played a good game against Al Duhail SC but we suffered today, which is normal as we face the European champions.
"I am sad after today's loss. It is normal to feel sad after missing the opportunity to play in the final.
Mosimane has also tipped the Bavarians to go all the way and lift their sixth title of the season, when they take on Mexican outfit Tigres UANL on Thursday.
"We have to give credit to Mexico's Tigres UANL after reaching the final, but I expect FC Bayern Munich to win the title.
"We prepared the players very well for the match. We were not afraid and put on a good performance especially in defense. However, it is very hard to create goalscoring chances against a big team, like FC Bayern Munich.
"Our target is to win the bronze medal and we have to do our best against Palmeiras to achieve third place," he said.
