The CAF champions lost 2-0 to Bayern courtesy of a brace by Robert Lewandowski on Monday, but have been largely praised for their displays at the tournament.
Brazil legend Kaka has now echoed the plaudits ahead of Al Ahly's third-place play-off against Copa Libertadores champions Palmeiras.
"Of course, what we saw was the product of Al Ahly's work. This is the stage of results," the Selecao icon said, as per KingFut.
"For us and the teams from South America, we know that the competition is tough.
"To play here, the qualification process is difficult. This team deserves its spot here.
"Now looking at (Mohamed) Salah, he is not an exception, but rather an indicator of the development of Egyptian football, when we see this level.
"I want to congratulate Egypt for their players' development, and they deserve to be here.
"The game was interesting, especially in the second half, when each team was playing their best football. Also, let's not forget the fans, who deserve to be here."
Al Ahly will attempt to equal their third-place finish from the 2006 Club World Cup when they take on Palmeiras on Thursday.
