Bayern Munich were left furious after they were forced to sleep in a plane ahead of their FIFA Club World Cup semi-final against Pitso Mosimane's Al Ahly.
The Bavarians were scheduled to depart for Qatar soon after their victory over Hertha Berlin on Friday evening.
However, their plan was denied permission to take off at BER Airport due to a strict ban on night flight between 00h00 and 05h00, according to ESPN.
As a result, the team spent the night on the plane before returning to Munich where the flight crew had to be changed for the departure on Saturday morning.
Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was not happy with the treatment the team was given ahead of Monday's semi-final.
"We feel like the authorities in charge in Brandenburg politics have taken us for a ride."
ESPN reported that every team must arrive at the match venue at least three days before kick-off, as per FIFA regulations.
The Bavarians take on the African champions, who overcame Al Duhail in Thursday's quarter-final at Education City Stadium.
