Hussein El Shahat's first half strike was enough to see the Red Eagles progress on the night, although Al Ahly will feel aggrieved after they had a goal chalked off by VAR.
That could not stop the raucous celebrations that took place in the stadium though, as the handful of Ahly supporters who were allowed inside could not maintain themselves.

In the post-match press conference, Mosimane expressed his happiness following Al Ahly's 1-0 victory over Qatar's Al-Duhail SC.
"We faced a tough opponent. They have a lot of great players, but we managed to achieve our goal and win the match. I hoped that the team would continue with the same performance as the first half. However, at the end we achieved our target and won the game.
"On a different note, Bwalya played very well today. I hoped that the referee would count his goal, which was disallowed by the VAR. Moreover, he exerted a lot of effort in the first half, that is why I took him off the pitch in the second half.
"Lastly, we will learn from our mistakes in today's game ahead of our upcoming match against Bayern Munich. We will have to be very concentrated and prepare well for the game.
The semi-final clash between Bayern and Al Ahly will take place at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium on Monday 8 February.
